Florence Otedola

Director

Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola is a Director at Vhortex Group, and oversees all the Group’s Fundraising and Deal Origination projects. She is also the founder of Red Velvet Music Group LTD, a talent management and publishing music company based in Lagos and London established in 2013. She also worked as an intern in 2015 at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation imprint in New York. She has a strong passion for investing and growing businesses as well as philanthropy. Florence is also an ambassador for Global Citizen; she is also the youngest sitting member on the board of the Save the Children’s Africa Advisory Committee. Besides her passion for business and entrepreneurship, she has a strong passion for music and has built her popular music brand known as ‘DJ Cuppy’. As a multifaceted, dynamic musician and young entrepreneur, she is also focused on efforts to support others with various global philanthropic efforts. In 2018, she started the ‘Cuppy Foundation’ where she raised $14million to help displaced children across Africa.

Similar to any well-rounded business executive she finds time for all the people whom she connects with as a DJ, and has shown her talents in numerous ways on stage: In 2014, she was selected as the official DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards. In 2020, she was elected as the first African to host a playlist radio show on Apple Music and she was recently inducted into the Forbes Magazine’s 30 under 30 class.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from King’s College London and a Master’s degree in Music Business from New York University. Going beyond her passion for music and giving back to the society she prioritizes her platforms as a voice to address social issues.
